Daisy Willow Early Learning is a Reggio-inspired center where children learn through exploration, relationships, and joyful experiences. We create spaces that honor the wonder and beauty of early childhood.
In the quiet hours of new motherhood, Colleen Herko began dreaming of a different kind of early learning community. One built on warmth, beauty, and a deep respect for the way young children see the world. What started as a small, beloved in-home program soon grew into a vision for something bigger: a place where children feel truly seen, where curiosity is celebrated, and where families feel supported and welcomed.
Daisy Willow is the heart-work of a mom and educator committed to honoring the magic, wonder, and possibility inside every child.
Colleen found herself watching her first baby discover the world with wide-eyed curiosity. Those slow mornings and late-night feedings became a window into childhood wonder: the way a baby studies light on the wall, reaches for textures, or lights up at a simple sound. In those moments, a dream began to take shape. A dream of creating a place where children could explore freely, feel deeply seen, and learn in ways that honored who they naturally are.
As her small in-home program grew, Colleen saw again and again that children flourish when they are trusted, given real materials, and surrounded by caring relationships. These early experiences shaped the heart of Daisy Willow. Rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our approach celebrates children as capable, creative thinkers who learn best through hands-on exploration and meaningful connections. Every space we design is intentional—inviting curiosity, building confidence, and nurturing a sense of belonging. Daisy Willow isn’t just a center; it’s a community built from love, respect, and the belief that childhood should feel magical.
At Daisy Willow, children aren’t rushed through activities or told precisely how to create. Instead, we follow their ideas, questions, and curiosity. Whether it’s exploring loose parts, investigating a puddle, or revisiting a project day after day, we trust children to show us what they’re ready for.
This belief, rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, creates confident thinkers, joyful creators, and deep, meaningful learning.
We honor each child’s natural curiosity, interests, and rhythm. Learning unfolds through hands-on exploration, open-ended materials, and meaningful questions. When children lead, they learn with joy, confidence, and intention.
Thoughtfully designed classrooms, natural materials, and soft, calming environments help children feel grounded and curious. We believe beauty invites exploration and that the environment is a teacher in itself.
Children thrive when they feel known, safe, and supported. Strong relationships with caregivers, peers, and families are at the heart of everything we do. Belonging is the foundation of all learning.
